Description

The SV-100 shares the SV-10’s tuning-fork vibration measurement method — two sensor plates vibrating at a fixed 30Hz natural frequency, with drive current converted directly to a viscosity reading — but is scaled for the higher-viscosity end of the range: 1,000 to 100,000 mPa·s (10 to 1,000 poise). That covers thick pastes, gels, and heavy syrups that would be outside a lower-range instrument’s useful window.

As with the SV-10, there’s no spindle to select and no rotational speed to configure: the sensor plates lower into the sample and a first reading appears within 15 seconds, refreshing continuously so a process change or temperature effect can be watched as it happens rather than sampled once. Minimum sample volume is 10ml. Repeatability is ±1% of reading, with ±3% accuracy stated across the 1,000-100,000 mPa·s range, and the low-shear vibration method avoids disturbing samples the way a rotating spindle can. Temperature tracking runs 0-160°C, and an optional water jacket (AX-SV-37) is available for temperature-controlled measurements.
