ICS and Brechbuhler Scales: Four Years Into a Joint Venture

In 2021, Instrument Calibration Solutions (ICS) joined forces with Brechbuhler Scales and B‑TEK Scales to offer turnkey calibration services across Ohio and Pennsylvania. Four years later, that partnership has grown into a combined operation covering precision calibration and industrial weighing under one roof.

How we got here

• 1929: Brechbuhler Scales opens in Canton, OH, and grows into a provider of scale service, sales, rentals, calibration, and engineered weighing systems across the Midwest.
• 2004: ICS is founded, offering ISO/IEC 17025-accredited calibration across electrical, mechanical, dimensional, optical, torque, pressure, force, and temperature equipment.
• December 31, 2020: ICS and Brechbuhler formally join as a partnership, bringing calibration and scale services under one flag.
• November 2023: ICS acquires Inspection Technologies, adding OGP non-contact optical gaging systems to its calibration capabilities.
• 2024–2025: Continued expansion, mobile lab deployment, open houses, lab upgrades, and team growth across Ohio and PA.

What each company brings

ICS provides A2LA-accredited calibration services in Ohio, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Indiana, Kentucky, and Michigan. Brechbuhler brings industrial scale calibration, equipment service, and engineered weighing systems, covering everything from bench scales to truck and rail scales. Together, that covers calibrating transducers and torque sensors as well as servicing large-capacity industrial scales, and Brechbuhler continues to grow its own branch network through acquisitions like Advanced Weighing Systems in Illinois.

Hiring and culture

As the combined service scope has widened, so has headcount. ICS and Brechbuhler are hiring metrology technicians, scale specialists, engineers, and mobile-lab operators, built around a shared focus on precision, integrity, and dependable service.
